New Clothes/New Attiftude?

I am currently so unhappy with my weight. I haven't felt this out of shape or weighed this much in nearly 18 years. I know exactly how I got here...eating way too much. I love food. There ya' go I admit...food is GOOD!

Over the past year and a half I have started dozens and dozens of diets. Every Monday I'd say..."Okay, Les this time I will do it!!" Well, I did do it for a few days then fail. By the weekend I was pigging out on chips, restaurant food and just not giving a darn.

Fast forward to this spring. I am at a loss as what to wear. Nothing fits. I have been wearing the same t-shirts and jeans for over a year now in hopes I'd be able to go on a shopping spree after I lost the weight. Guess what? That hasn't happened-yet. So yesterday I decided I needed some new clothes to cheer me up, make me feel good about me. My Mom and I went to St. Joe and found some really cute clothes at Kohls. I can't wait to put one of my new shirts on today!

I read somewhere awhile back that if we don't feel good about ourselves while we're losing weight then it's easier for us to fall off the wagon. I really believe that's true. So, yes, I splurged on a few new shirts but when I look good I feel good. And when I feel good I'm less likely to binge on crap. New clothes/New Attitude? ABSOLUTELY!!

good for you! I am still in the 'I dont want to buy new clothes' denial, but I think it is great that you have broken the cycle!

Isnt that funnY? I lost weight last jan-march, and never bought any clothes. I was discouraged after losing 20lbs, I still didnt change a pant size, so I never got new stuff. Well I recently spent some money on clothes and I FEEL so much better about myself. I really want to keep working out so I feel good, but I am having a hard time with the food... pass the chips and dip please.

However, I am very excited for you!! Keep up the work Les!!
